Tico

History: Tico was born around 1987 and he arrived at MONA in 2005. He was found by a family abandoned in the mountains where he likely escaped from a private owner. Once caught he was brought to a zoological garden where he  lived until my arrival in MONA.

Personality: Victor is in good physical shape, very agile and extremely fast. He likes to avoid any kind of aggressive interactions and therefore he rarely gets into fights with other chimpanzees in his group. He likes his male carers and he has a very friendly personality (at least when he is in a good mood).

Interests: He loves all kinds of fruits and especially rice balls for dinner but he doesn't like new foods introduced into his diet.

Dislikes: He doesn't feel comfortable around the female staff  at Mona (probably due to past experiences in his childhood). He sometimes forgets his own size and power compared to other chimpanzees and he is easily frightened. He doesn't tend to engage other chimpanzees and he avoid any intense physical contact (agonistic and affiliative) with other chimps.
