Why we have a department of education The Mona Foundation educational department wants to show everyone the world of primates , paying special focus and attention to chimpanzees . Our targeted audience for these educational visits are children and adolescence alike. To educate those generations about the habitats of primates and chimpanzees. Through visits to the chimpanzees at the rescue centre and various games and activities we want children to have an insight to the world of primate behaviour .
Educational activities and visits We welcome and invite all schools and summer schools to partake in a visit at the rescue centre here in Riudellots de la Selva . We offer activities for children aged between 3 and 14 years old . During the visit our teachers will show the children the actual situation of chimpanzees , as well as introducing the children to the chimpanzees we have living right here at the centre . During the activities and games that we conducted in our outdoor spare area , the children achieve a more indepth understanding of the concepts learnt in class . One of our main aims is to help children realise that our lives and the lives of other primates are not so disconnected . That everything we do has a direct effect on all other animals on Earth .We want to help children recognise that our behaviour and lifestyle is directly linked to nature even though we often forget that it is .
