Bongo


History: Bongo was born in captivity in 2000 and he arrived at Mona in 2002. He previously was trained to perform in the circus along with Waty. He was kept in a tiny cage.

Personality: He is very intelligent and collaborates very well with his caregivers. Character is good in relation to other friendly and playful chimpanzees. He can sometimes be nsecure and needs the approval of others. He has a stereotypical behaviour which is his  constant balancing on one of his leg and also agorophobia. He always attracts visitors' attention by throwing rocks or sand.

Likes: He loves all the food but has a weakness for yoghurt, seasonal fruits and boiled rice balls.
