Victor
History: Victor was born in the wild (Mali) around 1982 and he arrived at Mona in 2006. He was taken from his home and family when he was an infant as most chimpanzees who are captured in the wild. In the beginning he was bought by a private owner and kept as a pet. When he grew older and became an adult he was too much to handle for the owner and he was sent to a park in France. Activities: He is a very talented groomer and loves social contact and so that he will be accepted by others in his group, he has to redevelop his social skills like playing, hugging and other social activities. Due to his past experiences he has developed a stereotype rocking behavior using a blanket which he drags with him all day long. The blanket gives him a feeling of support and taking it away would put him under a lot of stress.
Interests: He loves most of my food if it is formed into balls (rice, meat) and he is very fond of good smelling and nicely patterned blankets. |
