I am a very sweet chimp and love the attention of my keepers.

About Me:

I was born in 2001 and have a unique temperament and distinctive expression which resembles Toni, one of the other male chimps at the sanctuary. It is very likely that Toni is my dad, but the staff are not absolutely sure.

My first couple of months at Mona were quite difficult because I was very stressed and bit myself a lot, which is typical behaviour of young chimps that have been deprived of attention. I needed to be monitored 24 hours a day by staff and volunteers until I settled in. I have now been introduced to each member of my new family and this has gradually helped me feel more comfortable.
