Thanks to Maria Jose, a volunteer at MONA, in early summer last year talks began with the illustrator Ignasi Blanch to carry out the project called PRIMER. This project involved creating illustrations that reflect the work of MONA by Ignasi Blanch students who were selected for this project. The artists produced their work from brush strokes made on paper by some of the MONA chimpanzees. As part of our enrichment program for our primates we occasionally give them the opportunity to paint on paper or cardboard.
