As you will remember Professor McGrew visited the sanctuary last March. We were honoured to have him visit us again in early December together with primate enrichment and welfare specialist Dr. Lisa Riley. They spent three days with us at the sanctuary and we can’t thank them enough for preparing many new enrichment activites and structures for primates. Professor McGrew wrote in our guest book, "A visit to MONA is for me a therapy session"
William C. McGrew is a professor of primatology in the Leverhulme Centre for Human Evolutionary Studies, Department of Biological Anthropology, University of Cambridge.  He has conducted field research on the behaviour of wild chimpanzees for over forty years, across sub-Saharan Africa from Senegal to Tanzania, focussing on their elementary technology and material culture.
