Working at our primate sanctuary in Spain

To help in the development of our project, the Mona Foundation is accepting guests to join us to work with our rescued primates at the sanctuary in Spain. During their stay, guests will be made to feel a part of our small community and will help out with every type of task involved in caring for rescued primates - from cleaning their sleeping quarters, to visiting the local market to collect donations of fruit and vegetables and preparing meals.

Our working holidays offer a unique experience where guests gain a wonderful insight into the daily lives of our rescued primates. It is a chance in a lifetime. We are one of the only primate rescue centres outside of Africa where you get the unique opportunity to experience working with chimpanzees. The experience may just change your life forever.

During their stay, guests will be made to feel part of our dedicated team of primate caregivers and they will help out with every type of task involved in the daily care of our rescued primates.

We accept a maximum of two guests at a time and our volunteer placements run all year round.

Guests can either stay in a hotel or youth hostel in the nearby medieval city of Girona and they spend two days working at the primate rescue centre.
