Recent Rescues - Nico and Sara

Nico and Sara are two of Romie's babies. Romie was rescued in 2001 from a life of misery having spent eight years living in total darkness within the confines of her one metre square cage. Her sole purpose was to produce babies for a notorious Spanish animal trainer. Nico and Sara were taken from her soon after they were born, to begin their humanisation process to make them easier to train for use in TV commercials. We have spent three years of wrangling, trying to rescue them but finally they have been reunited with their mother. When they were found they were living in cramped dirty conditions in a house in Valencia. After a physical examination it was found that Sara had two broken ribs, consistent with abuse. The pair are extremely traumatized by their past experiences but they continue to make progress in learning the social skills necessary to live happily within our family group.
