MARTHA HAS ARRIVED AT THE JGI EDEN SANCTUARY

I am very pleased to announce that Martha, the female chimp from Ghana has finally been transported to the JGI Eden sanctuary in South Africa today. We have been working closely with the Wildlife Division in Ghana and Phillip Cronje from the JGI Eden sanctuary for over a year to make sure we had all the necessary paperwork and that the logistics were in place for the move. It was a eight hour flight from Ghana to South Africa and then a short road trip to the sanctuary from the airport. Phillip said that she handled the trip well and she will be in quarantine for 3 months. We look forward to updating you on her progress at her new home.
We want to thank all of our supporters who generously donated funds to help us pay for the move. We couldn’t have achieved this without the help of the people on the ground in Ghana including our friend Martina Odonkor, Richard Su-uire, Nana Adu Nsiah and Mr Lamptey from the Wildlife Division in Ghana and Phillip Cronje from the Eden Sanctuary.
