We are very proud to anounce that on June 3rd 2006, the world renowned primatologist and advocate for animals Dr. Jane Goodall DBE and her friend, ethologist Prof Marc Bekoff came to visit the sanctuary and met the MONA family. Dr Goodall met all of our staff and volunteers and over 200 of our supporters. We took her on a tour of the sanctuary where she met the chimps and we told her about their sad past and how they had come along way and were now happily integrated into stable groups.

Dr Goodall gave a short talk and introduced her Roots & Shoots® programme to our Spanish and British supporters. We are very happy to have Dr. Goodall's support for our project and we will continue to support her Roots & Shoots® programme.

To thank Dr Goodall for taking time out of her busy schedule to visit us we presented her with a gift, a beautiful sketch prepared by a very talented artist and MONA supporter Rosemary Wild. We also presented Mary Lewis, VP of outreach and assistant to Dr. Goodall a gift, a lovely wooden sculpture of Juanito, for helping us organise the special afternoon.
